ok i went to my ethernet card in my PC and changed the IP from automatic to 192.168.0.1, changed the SUBNET MASK to 255.255.255.0, and did the DEFAULT GATEWAY to 192.168.0.2
now i just softmodded my xbox, and i did the FTP settings with the xbox's IP to 192.168.0.2, then the SUBNET MASK to 255.255.255.0, and did the DEFAULT GATEWAY to 192.168.0.1.
now i got an xbox ethernet cord and connected it to my xbox ethernet card and my computers ethernet card. I installed CuteFTP and did the whole website name and IP thing. it takes mabey 30 seconds for it to give me an error, i never took a screenshot but it tells me, instead of using the default connection thing, please use Blah, or BLAb. i forgot the names of it.
The point of this is to ask. is there a easier and faster way to FTP with my computer and xbox? because this thing is being a *****, and i really do not want my money to go to waste.
thank you
PS, if u want me to ill get you those error messages

Ok, ok, ok.
Reset your PC's IP settings. Enter the IP and subnet you were using before (192.168.0.1 and 255.255.255.0). Leave the default gateway blank.
Now, WITH THE CROSSOVER CABLE CONNECTED TO THE PC AND XBOX, power on the Xbox (I don't know what dash you are using, but some of them won't network if they don't see a link light at startup). Make sure your IP is set to what you had before (192.168.0.2 and 255.255.255.0). Also make sure your default gateway is the PC's IP address (192.168.0.1).
Go to Start Menu - Run - type "CMD" and hit enter.
When you get the prompt, type "Ping 192.168.0.2".
If you get a successful ping, move on to the next step. If you do not get a successful ping, reboot your xbox.
Now to talk to it. I don't know what PC apps you are using, but if you are just moving files around, Internet Explorer is the easiest to use.
Your default username:password should be xbox:xbox, unless you changed it. Open your Internet Explorer and type in the following in the address bar and press enter:
"ftp://xbox:xbox@192.168.0.2"
Done deal. Now you should be browsing your Xbox HD just like you would browse your HD in your PC.

If you do everything the way I told you, you can add and delete all you want. It is all click and drag this way.
