Copy VHS to DVD

I got a VHS DVD recorder all in one unit for christmas with a one touch dubbing button. My question is I have alot of VHS tapes I own and want to copy them to DVD. but when I try to copy them I get a message telling my that I can't copy the tape beacuse of a copyright. Is ther a way to copy them?

I'm having this problem as well. Glad I'm not the only one. Anyone with any ideas on solving this problem would be great appreciated!
