A few days, maybe last week, my wife and I had an advertisement about ripping Dvds without using a dvd-r...has anybody received anything like that, and if anybody tried it, is it legit?

there are some that also say you can burn dvd's without a dvd burner...these softwares only make vcd's..the only thing they really do (such as dup dvd) is a 1 step rip to burn process.

simply put..you need a dvd rom to rip and a dvd burner to make a dvd....or....
a dvd rom to rip and a cd burner to make a vcd.
