How do I add song and album info, as well as a cover jpeg to my cd-r's? I'm referring to what pops up when I use Windows Media Player 9. When I play a cd, the album cover shows, and all the tracks come with info.

I hope this isn't a stupid question, i've been searching all day for info on it, and i'm sick of searching. Thanks.

You can use CoverXP Pro to print out all kinds of cover labels. I believe your burner must be able to write text to add song info, album info.
Look here for more info: http://www.cdcovers.cc/pc_m.php

This thread is not about printing a label or jacket, it's about writing non-audio files to the CD.

Is Windows Media Player looking for specific files physically on the CD itself (one for the album art, another for CD-TEXT info)? I believe WMP might be sending the CD's UPC code to some web server and getting an image back.

However, my Sony DVD player has a "jacket picture" display feature but I have yet to find out what it is looking for on the Data CD to show. I have tried "cover.bmp" and "cover.jpg" files in each directory on a Data CD (MP3 audio) I made, with no luck.

I think we are talking about WMP9 'Info Center' feature:
http://windowsmedia.com/9series/whatsnew/InfoCenter.asp?page=2&lookup=UseInfoCenter

CD Cover info (or Video, or Lyrics) information is not usually stored on an Audio CD. Often it is either loaded from your HD or from internet.

Maybe the CD you got had already info about it stored on your PC (and WMP9 retreived them from the HD).

I assume that you can easily organize/burn such a CD with Nero (like some multimedia CD that have data info on them) and put those info on the DATA Track.

I must check if 'Mixed Mode CD' (1 Session 2 Tracks = 1 Data Track + 1 Audio Track) or 'CD Extra' (2 Sessions, 1 Audio + 1 Data) must be used, but I think that CD Extra is the good one...
Quote:
A Mixed Mode CD contains a data track and one or more audio tracks written in a single session. Mixed Mode CD's do not always operate properly on an audio CD player because the player cannot read the data track. However, some newer audio CD players are able to skip the data track.

CD Extra records the data and audio tracks in separate sessions, overcoming the problem presented in a Mixed Mode CD.

I'm not sure if you can to that in a standard way that WMP automatically recognizes the CD and loads the stuff...

Would you be interested in making a CD you can store some data into (like cover) and load manually with WMP? If so, this is easy, just open Nero, File-->New-->CD Extra and then put the Data info on the data window and the Audio traces on the Audio window.

I have also sent your post to the Audio Forum, to receive contibution from them, too.
