There are many converter programs out there you can use to convert those files...I personally import them into NeroVision Express either as single movie if want them combined or seperate if want split into different menu options, create my menu and let Nero recode it and put into image or folder ready to burn with burning software..Is easiest way to create DVDs from AVI's, etc that I have found and you can get pretty creative with the menus in Vision too..

google it, "Video Converter software". My personal favorite is "Super Video Converter". You don't have to be a pro and everything is point and click. No previous knowledge necessary. Super easy to use. Browse to your specific file you want to convert. Select it to import it. Select the new format you want to change it to and click convert. That easy. Mostly all converter software is set up that way.

the simplest way is for you to load your file into avicodec and then copy and paste the propertes of the file into your next post .No one can give you an exact response with out knowing what the properties are.

You say avi? is it divx/avi/xvid!!!! see there are numerous possibilities.

Heres a link to a free download of avicodec.Once you post the results we can suggest your next step.

Generally speaking most video format files that are downloaded etc will need to be converted to an mpeg2 compatible format before you burn them to disc and then can be played in a standalone dvd player
