Slimline Disk Not spinning

After playing around with my slimline to try and get it running with backups, I am now stuck with a PS@ whose disk will not spin at startup. It looks like the only physical change is the back of the reset switch looks like the brown plastic is chipped. Any suggestions appreciated.

What kind of mod did you apply? There could be a million reasons why your PS2 isn't running discs.

It wasn't chipped, I had installed the fliptop. It worked when one of the rear switches was taped down, but even then only worked every now and then. It played originals fine.

Will it still play originals fine? If so, then you're probably okay. If you followed the directions on PS2LiD.com, then you should also be fine.

Try doing what I and a few other people had to do : remove the spring from the fliplid. You know that when you press eject, it releases and the lid springs up? Yeah, try removing that spring.

It's helped me, and a few other people, also, you could try putting down a weight (like a book, or a controller, or something) on the PS2 when you're trying to load a game.
