No video when playing dvd

When I try to play a dvd it plays only sound and no picture. I have tried several different software programs including Nero. Could anyone please help?

Like what are you trying to play it on?

Is your monitor or tv turned on?

Are your eyes open?

Bugger I can't keep this new year stuff up.
My mind reading 'ali' helmet is still wrapped around the turkey, I've little doubt creakys' missus is still using the colander.

I am trying to play original and copied dvd's on a sony DVD RW DW-Q28A and of course the monitor is on otherwise how would I use the program?
I don't really understand what a codec is but I will do some investigating.

Well that's a start,,,codecs, are mini programs, that help your pc interpret and communicate with formats it ain't used to.

I just did a quick google search on your DVD burner, and although it's Sonys latest offering, your not alone with problems.

I think I can say for a lot of folk around hereabouts Don't buy anything SS,ony.

download codec pack - install it - play dvd....
