Hello Gurus,

I have a problem playing back DivXs using Windows Media Center 2005. All of my DivX movies start experiencing audio problems after about 5-8 minutes of playback. The problem is a skipping in the audio that degrades in quality until eventually no audio is played back at all.

I can work around this issue by stopping the playback and starting playing again. I would like to find a way to fix this issue, and I'm at a loss. I don't know if it is a problem with the codecs, if so, is it the audio or video codecs which are the issue. I don't know if it is a problem with Windows Media Player. I thought that I would try and get some info from the digital video gurus before beginning my own troubleshooting. Thanks for any help...

Here are some more specific technical details about my system:

Windows Media Center 2005
Media Player Version 10

Here are the details of a reproducable case:

File : 350 MB (350 MB), duration: 0:45:30, type: AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 55 %

Video : 288 MB, 885 Kbps, 23.976 fps, 512*384 (4:3), DIV3 = DivX v3 ;-) MPEG-4 (Low-Motion), Supported

Audio : 62 MB, 192 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x2000 = AC3 DVM, Supported

MP3 Playback does not have this problem.
