the topic of this post and the question asked are not one and the same.......................
doesnt matter how you burn the disk in Nero or any other program, witout a modchip or swap-magic your not gonna boot it.

You can use DVD Decrypter to burn your back-ups, but there is no point bruning them if you don't have some sort of Mod.

I've heard of people using Action Replay MAX, but not the EVO edition. I'm not so sure if it works, I mostly heard that it doesn't, but theres the few that say they had success. I'm thinking they may have an older PS2.

I dont have any kind of mod and I can play my games.... though I am looking to mod my ps2. There is a long process you have to go through before being able to play though search through the forums like sobhy2406 said. Im pretty sure its in here somewhere, I just dont have the energy to look for you.

Put simply.. it's not possible. Some form of modification must be made in order to play backups.

I dont consider using the slidecard method as a form of modding your ps2. Becuase really you arent modifying anythiong in the ps2. you're just sliding a little white thing back and forth. Although I guess you are modding in it some way because of the memory card exploit that you put into place before being able to do anything.
Just search for "memory card exploit" and "slidecard method". If you searched correctly it should answer all your questions.

Well you still have to use Swap Magic with the slide card. Swap Magic is considered a software modification or soft mod. Some people don't consider booting games off a HD with a MC exploit or HD Advance a mod, but it is. Any type of modification to your PS2 which enables you to boot backups is a mod.

I've yet to EVER see a slide card with a SCEA logo on it. if you don't have an original official Playstation game disk installed into a 100% Playstation console (less minor wear and tear but no duck tape allowed) by use of the eject/reset button (FF12 is acceptable via an official $ony HDD) your modded. the use of any cheat device (action replay/Gameshark 2/etc..) is a modification, Sony does not endorse or willingly support their products. it's also damn hard to exploit a memory card without a good modification of some sort.
hard mod/soft mod, a mod is still a mod, it's like your wife being a 'little bit pregnant' it just doesn't happen it either is or it ain't. and chances are if your on here asking questions, yours has some sort of modification.

I've never really cared for the Messiah 2 and this chip is supposed to simply be an upgraded version of the same chip. they come to you useless (no flash at all on the chip) and are a bit more troublesome then a DMS chip about flashing so I'll stick with the DMS4 SE line myself their more 'user friendly' and as always You Get What You Pay For rings true.

Yeah DMS chips and MI are the way to go. The CC is looking better to me all the time. Did you hear Team Toxic said they won't add auto DNA patching to the DMS 4 SE's flash? I guess they've drawn the ire of Sony after creating their own HD Loader program.

if that is how it is i don't see a big problem, patching the disk is explained in detail in many forums and the flash is the same for the DMS chips the SE doesn't come into the equation only if you have a Lite v/s a Pro.

Yeah I could care less. It's a just a nice feature the CC has. It's certainly not that important if people don't care about playing their games online. The DMS 4 Pro SE and MI are still the way to go as far as I'm concerned. The CC is almost there.
