Hello,
I just got a Cowon iAudio MP3/PVP player, and I have stuff on DVD's I'd like to put on it. I don't know where to start. Also, I have no money. The player supports the mpeg's (1-4). So, what do I do, to get DVD's to that format? From my understanding, you need to rip the dvd...then convert the file to my type of choice. Finally, where can I get FREE software to do all this? All I can seem to find is trial basis shareware. Back in the day I remember getting a WAV-MP3 converter for free, at like mp3.com or something...where can I find all this now?

Well, since the beginning of this year, most to all of the DVD-ripping software used on this site has been removed due to legal issues. There are many people who put up torrents and .zip's of most of the software in question.

You can get more info on where to get more freeware DVD-rippers and audio rippers.

We still have CDex, a great audio ripping tool still here, as well as the DivX codec to make DivX encoded MPEG-4's. Try asking for the guides that we used to have about converting a DVD to DivX. I can even try to put you through the motions on the IRC channel if you want. If you can't use the above link, the server for Afterdawn is:
