I ripped House of Wax with just Shrink , the ISO file is fine . After the burn there is no audio at all on dvd . How can this be , is it a media issue ? Just a bad burn ? or is something in the iso file still have some protection on it.

Can you assume the ISO is totally fine if it plays perfectly in Shrink ?

I made my backup of house of wax using dvdshrink and nero, there's nothing special about this movie. Rip your DVD using shrink, choose re-author and drag Title 1 (main movie only) to the left side, click on compression tab and uncheck/remove any etxra stuff you don't want, leave the AC3 5.1 channel english audio box checked. Press backup and you're off. I have shrink create an ISO image to burn with nero, set nero to write a 4X.

Thats what I did and usually do , the only difference is I burn with Roxio , which I have never had an issue with . Anyways, the ISO seems fine when played with shrink but does not play audio in the roxio player . So I guess i will try Nero next.

I have and use Roxio as well, but I have never used it's player to watch DVD's. If you backed up the DVD as stated, there shouldn't be any audio issues, the issue maybe with the player you're using. Try using Microsoft's mediaplayer, or Nero's movie player(if you have nero). You might also want to try the DVD on an stand alone player and see what happens.

Thanks, I have used Shrink and Roxio combo numerous times. After ripping once with Shrink and once with DVDdecryptor and then shrink , each time when I play it in shrink the ISO has audio . Then when burning it with either Roxio or decryptor there is no audio. That is when I tried to verify the audio with something other than Shrink player . So there is no audio on the iso with the Roxio player and there is no audio on the two disc I burned and tried on standalone Panny that plays all my DVD-R.

I dont know what else to do except just trying different combinations. One thing to add is that I am not using AnyDVD anymore .....and am wondering if this has something to do with the audio problem , but if it does why does the iso play with audio in the Shrink player........I am thinking of ordering AnyDVD and Clone and starting all over , but would prefer not to
