I hope you dont mind providing some newb help!!

I'm new to the copying and burining of DVD's. I used DVDSHRINK on older movies. It ripped and burned quite well. Using that same program, I ran into problems with the newer movies, getting an error message when attempting to burn. THen, I used DVD Decripter to rip and Shrink to burn, same error message.

What am I missing?????

A program that will remove the newer protections, i.e., AnyDVD, DVD43, etc. DVDDecrypter and DVD Shrink are no longer updated and thus are not as effective with some of the newer DVD titles.

Thanks for replying!
So, if I use AnyDVD or DVD43 to rip... what program do you suggest to burn.

are these programs free? is it better to puchase a program versus freeware?

anydvd or DVD43 are decrypters that run in the background. DVD Shrink also can decrypt old movies (it's not updated anymore), but many use it for its shrinking capabilities.

anydvd has a 21 day free trial and is updated often. it's worth the money if you ask the senior members here. DVD43 is free and is not updated often, but still works most of the time.

simply download and install AnyDVD trial or DVD43, and continue to use dvdshrink as before. the only difference you will notice is that dvdshrink will now believe all files are "unencrypted" because AnyDVD or DVD43 is handling the decryption.
