Appreciate any help
Have loaded all of the neccessary files I think and now running V1.5
Open up umd EMULTAOR and get green cog screen which shows <game name>.ISO.
checked ISO emulation mode is copy load, down arrow to <game name>.ISO and PSP hangs/freezes and need reboot!

Any ideas much appreciated as I have a disappointed teenager despearte to play some of the new games he has!!

Since you say you have a 1.5 psp, you can delete the photos/overflo.tif and these
h.bin (all these in root folder)
index.dat
autorun
100.bin
camarche.dat
index.dat.bak

You dont need these files to run an iso.

Thanks for that deleted them - but still having problems. Can you advise if the ISO folder (with games in) should be next to the root PSP folder or in that folder?

The ISO folder should be in the root.

Do this, since you say you have a 1.5 psp (you are sure it is 1.5 and not 1.51 or 1.52??)

I hope you have a backup of the ISO's on your hard drive.

Format the memory stick.

Unzip UMD Emulator to a temporary folder on your desktop.

Open that folder and navigate to PSP -> GAME , then cut and paste the two folders that you see here called UMDEMULATOR and UMDEMULATOR% to the PSP -> GAME folder on your psp memory stick

Similarly, cut and paste the UMDEMULATOR folder from the temporary folder on your desktop (it will be right next to the folder called PSP) to the root of the Memory Stick

Create a folder called ISO (it is case sensitive)

Copy your ISO to this folder. (there are some games that cannot be run in ISO format, these are the new games that require firmware 2.0, make sure the games you have will run on 1.5, you can search on goolgle for compatibility)

Try it now.

OK the plot thickens !

didn't actually get as far as doing the attached though got a game to work (yesssss). Logged off, tried again it worked (yessss)!

added another game, opened green cog screen - could see both games, tried either and both hung the PSP - resulting in me having to turn off/on

tried deleting the second game and trying again (i.e. back to where we were when it worked)- unfortuantely back to the same problem!!!!

arhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

OK - think I've sussed it!

Not sure whether I should have been doing this all along, however when you have a game in the back of the PC the emulator games work!!

Weird - but working

You never had a UMD in the PSP ?? YOu are supposed to have a umd in there all the time for the umdemulator to work, it tricks the psp into thinking that the UMD in the drive is actually the ISO that you are trying to load. If you read the instructions that come with UMDemulator, it says that in it.
