Happy new year. I have a modded PS2 SCPH-50001 with a DMS3 V9 modchip. I'm planning of buying the codebreaker V9.2 but would it work with my PS2 ?? Would it also work on import & back-up games? I have an AR Max but sadly, it doesnt have as many new codes available. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks ^_^
I heard somewhere people had trouble with cb v9.2.
I can confirm cb v1-9.1 work on my modded ps2. I'm also using a dms3 v9 modchip with flash 2.7 beta. For me, the only flash releases that work with codebreaker are 2.2 and 2.7 beta.
Yes, you can use codes on backups/imports. Also, you can use a cd-r copy of codebreaker. However, a copied version of codebreaker wont work with flash 2.2, only 2.7 beta.
I hope you can help me again. I just got my Codebreaker V9.1 & as i kinda expected it did not work on my modded PS2. I've tried burning the bin and cue files you gave me from the the DMS3.2.4b7 but it did not load on my PS2. However, i did not include the upgrade elf file on the burn. Do i need to include the elf file too? Thanks again. ^_^
1)Burn the .bin file to cd-r using DVD Decrypter
2)Boot up the disc in ps2 mode (If your chip is not in ps2 mode, hold "X" when booting)
3)The cd-r will run and flash yor chip.
You do not need to include the elf. Just burn the image to cd-r.
I thank you kindly for your help. I was finally able to flash and was able to use the codebreaker. ^__^. I do have one last question. If for some reason that the flashing screwed up my other games, is it possible to unflashed the mod back to its original version at all? So far i've only played it on 1 game and it works fine, i havent tried the other games yet. Just thinking ahead since im a noob at this kind of stuff. Thanks again ^_^
1)Burn the firmware you want cd-r (2.2 recommended as others dont work with codebreaker)
2)Turn on ps2
3)open cd tray
4)put cd-r in
5)turn off ps2
6)manually close cd tray with your hand
7)turn ps2 on. Wait until reset button turns red.
8)hit reset button
9)wait until eject button lights up blue
10)hit reset button again as soon as it lights up blue
11)wait until eject button lights up blue
12)hit reset button again as soon as it lights up blue
13)wait until eject button lights up blue
14)hit reset button again as soon as it lights up blue
This will reset the flash and then it will boot up the cd-r and flash the chip to your preferred firmware.
