DVDS lock-up

My DVDS works fine, sometimes. If I click on the disc icon right below the words DVD Structure, I get a lock-up on my computer that requires manual restarts, system restore etc. I thought clicking that icon (once) would burn the entire disc as opposed to just the main title. Am I wrong? Should I just burn the main title?
