Some of the newer titles have a new encryption that DVDdecrypter and DVDShrink cannot handle alone. Thus you would need assistance from another program. DVDFab decrypter is a ripper that has updated encryption tools that will allow ripping of most DVD's.

For a really wonderful encryption bypasser you should consider AnyDVD which is available from http://www.slysoft.com

It is a purchace program, but does come with a 21 day free trial. I purchased it and have not had a backup fail since due to encryptions.

It is updated regularly and updates are free.

Cheers.

I had to activate AnyDVD v 5.7.3.1 in the background to allow DVD Shrink to work on The Cave.DVD Shrink can't handle it alone.

AnyDVD is a driver that runs in the background and removes the encryptions from the DVD. All you have to do is open it, and there will be a fox head in the task tray. Then you put the DVD into the DVD reader and wait about 30 seconds til you see the fox head flash pale and then return to dark red. (The encryptions are now removed)

Now open up your ripping program and begin the backup process.

There is a guide for it in my signature.

It's one of the few,non free programs that i recommend. It pulls of cd and dvd encryptions and also makes a drive region free.

It's updated very regularly. I just updated it twice in the last 5-6 days! DVD Shrink hasn't been updated in over a year and a half. DVD Decrypter also hasn't been updated for a few months or so.Both those programs likely will never be updated.

No extra step involved. If you see that red fox icon in that lower task tray, then she's a running.Simple right click/ tick check mark with enable and the fox turns gray.To turn back on,right click/tick enable.

I disable mine at all times until the need arises. Not so much as for freeing up resources, but this way I know what new releases that DVD Shrink can handle and which ones they can't.

It's just another option. The free trial can't hurt.It even allows on the fly backups if you want to get risky!
