I recently got a fliptop and magic 3 disc system for backing up PS2 games. Also,I bought the DVD Wizard Pro.The download showed 2 ways to backup. 1st was PrimoDVD2 which I can't seem to access. 2nd-DVD Decrypter which I already had. That was a waste of money. Anyways,I used Decrypter and had no problems with ripping and burning,so I thought.I did this for about 10 games. When finished with each ,I would try them out after using the swap disc.Sometimes they work with no problems, then other times, the ps won't read them or the games sort of malfunctions.I've been reading everything I could ,trying to figure out where I'm going wrong.I've used 2 different types of DVD+R 's ( TDK & Fugi )and even read about bytsetting.I have a NEC burner that won't allow me to change to DVD-ROM.Do I need a DVD-R burner so that I can use DVD-R discs? I read that some PS2 's are fussy. Am I suppose to use patches? Sorry, but I need some help. Oh by the way,the laser sometimes acts as if it's having a hard time reading the backups.Originals- movies and games play fine.

You're right: some PS2s are fussy with the media. Most perople say that the older PS2s (v1-8) don't like +DVDs so most people who have those systems use -DVDs. However, newer versions of the PS2 (v9-14) like it both ways, i.e. + or -: but this is not alwas the case, it's a matter of trial and error. I would suggest that you try to back up a game on someone else's DVD which supports -DVD and see whether or not your system likes the -DVDs. I would say that your problem is related to the fact that your PS2 system doesn't like +DVDs so if i were you i would try and back up a few games on -DVD (preferably on good quality media). Good luck
