when trying to copy land of dead with dvd shrink it analyse's it and at 98% keeps coming up with this dvd is copy protected as its the first time ive come across this how can i get round it

Try ripping it first with DVD Decrypter or DVD FabDecrypter and then open up Shrink and process.

If what arniebear suggested doesn't work for you, try running AnyDVD or DVD43 in the background. Either of these programs will remove copy protections on the disc.
