Sony Digital Camcorder PB Zoom problem

I have a Soney Digital Camcorder, model number DCR-TRV140E. I turned on the PB zoom that but unable to cancel it despite turning the camera off. Soney manual on its website also suggested the same thing but it's not working for me. White recording is working fine, when I start viewing the movie on VCR, the PB Zoom occupies the screen in gray strips. Any help guys.
