power dvd 2.55
ace mega codec pack

so, now to my problem:

when i open any .ratdvd - file with mpc i get the error "Can't find dvd-directory". i've tried to deactivate kerio spybot search and destroy teatimer and so on, but with no luck...
when i play .ratdvd-files with wmp 10 i just stays black and no sound, but it displays author and other informations... i can forward the progressbar of the player but with no effect. can anybody help me? I've tried to search on several forums and search-engines, there are as good as no posts with this unique problem.

feel free, to contact me via icq: 68525710

i found the solution in uninstalling all codecs (including ratdvd) and installing klite-megapack, without vfw-codecs especially FFDShow and installed XviD-codec. i read somewhere that ratDVD is incompatible to FFDShow-vfw, btw i can't really understand that, cause the author states its a standalone codec...
whatever, do uninstall all codecs on your system and then install klite-mega-pack and unclick under advanced all vfw-codecs, maybe other packs like ace may work too, but i tell u, how it worked for me...

My soultion is simular to the one above but if you don't wanna un-install all your codecs just config FFDShow's video properties to be disabled on XviD and make sure XviD is installed then when you load up something it will go through XviD instead of FFDShow as far XviD encoded material.

I had FFDShow-20050909.exe and installed ratDVDSetup-0.78.1444.exe. When opening the ratDVD file (the one I needed to open), the video was black and nothing actually happened.
I uninstalled FFDShow and the ratDVD file instantly played ok.
Then I installed FFDShow-20051221-gcc4.0.2-sse-x264.nl.exe and everything is working ok.

So it seems that the older FFDShow is not compatible with ratDVD.
