PS2 HDD Troubles

I decided to use a 30 gig Maxtor drive that I wasn't using and put it in my PS2. I formatted it with WinHIIP and copied a few games to it, but I'm having trouble getting the system to recognize the drive. If I run myPS2 off a CD, the drive is there and working. I got DMS3 as well as DMS HDD explorer, but I can't seem to install them. Every time I boot the discs, the program launches and asks if I want to install, but hangs on install and doesn't actually do anything.

I've got a v.4 PS2 and it's a 30 gig 5400rpm Maxtor drive. I'm just using the Swap Magic 3.6 and a slide card for backups and program installs.

Any ideas?

what program are you using to try and launch the HD?? you need to use HD Loader/HD Advance from disk or an elf file of HD Loader from the memory card or Dev mode.


also is your DMS a Pro or Lite?

if you have a Pro the new version of Toxic OS is out as of tonight in V0.41 you should install it and laucnh the HDD via the OS broswer, if you have a Lite flash with Toxic bios 1.4 and use dev mode to launch hdloader.elf
