I just got a brand new PSP today that has 1.50 on it. I was wanting some advice from someone on what I need to put on it. If I put an emulator on it to run roms how can I be able to play newer games that require an upgrade? I am a newbie at the PSP so any info would be great. I want to be able to run homebrews and newer games. I would also like to add a picture to the background, and I don't know what else I can do with it. Again if someone could help me out I would be greatful.
Well first and foremost..congrats on getting a PSP with firmware 1.5..that is awsome. In order for you to play roms, ie. snes, nes, you would first need to install the emulators sush as nesterj nes, and so on. The emulators run off of your memeory stick and are listed in the games directory. For newer games such ass GTA, Socom, you will need to upgrade and in doing so will leave you out of the hombrew games and emulators.
PM me and i can refer you to a web site
ok, i just got my psp like 2 days ago, and i heard very little about this "downgrading" i was about to play my new game that requires me to upgrade from a 1.52 to a 2.0, but after 4 hours of trying to put movies into my psp, i finally did it, should i upgrade my psp to a 2.0? will i still be able to use Video 9 to watch all the anime and korean music video i want with the psp? please help, mucho arigoto
i think i have homebrew, itz like Video 9 right? decoding things like movies into the psp format, my question is, is it bad to upgrade to 2.0? should i just stick with my 1.52? if i do that, then does that mean i cant play any disc games?
You cant do anything with 1.52 (as far as running homebrew or ISO games is concerned)
You have to upgrade to 2.0 (if you want to run only homebrew and play games that require 2.0 from their original UMDs) or Upgrade to 2.0 and then downgrade to 1.5 (if you want to run homebrew and play games from ISO images, but then you cant play some games that require 2.0 from their original UMDs without upgrading back to 2.0)
If you do not know what you are doing, dont do it. Read the forums and guides that are avaialble on the topic first.
By homebrew, what is meant is games and other applications that can run on the psp, that are not licenced through Sony. Psp Video9 runs mainly on your PC and helps you convert movies to PSP format.
hey everyone. i have a 2.60 psp and i ened help with connecting to the internet. i dont have wipeout pure, but i have a wireless router. my connection was fine earlir, but now its keeps saying connection to the server failed. a dns error has occured(80410410). how do i fix this.
So do you guys think that the homebrews are worth not being able to play the newer games like socom and GTA or not? I just don't know. What else can I be able to do with the 1.50 firmware that I can't with the newer updated firmware? Thanks for your replies.
