Dear Creaky,
I've tried using the example set up in your LG 4167 guide, I installed Nero 6.6.0.18 but when I went to Recorder->Choose Recorder-> Options, I did not get the booktype setting option,
Could it be that this drive needs a firmware update or that it does not support booktyping?
I need to know if theres firmware update for this model and where to find it or that it doesn't support at all and would there be an alternative way to booktype?

I have a software called DVDBitsetter, I do not know how it works with Nero, if you are familiar with it please guide me, thank you

Bitsetting also can be enabled with the Nero CD-DVD Speed bitsetting option. Did you try that? The LG4167 should support bitsetting for +R and +R DL media but not +RW media. Here's a picture example for both programs:

Set your drive as Master on the Secondary Channel and temporarily remove what is on the rest of the channel ! THAT is IMPORTANT when you update firmware!
Do Not forget the jumper on the back before you move it !

@Jeanc 1,
Well said, & the latest firmware IS A115. I am a LG user totally, I have thet GSA-4120B and yes it does booktype with Nero. I have A115 firmware too. Which I ONLY get from LG's site direct. The latest firmware for the GSA-4167B is version DL12. It booktypes in Nero too. LG has specific instructions in their firmware "read me". Read it, do the update EXACTLY as it says & you'll have no problems.
