Hi,

Couldn't find anyone with the same problem as me. I bought the Magic Switch Pro V2 and Swap Magic V3.6 for my black slimline v12 (SCPH70003). Got all the parts fitted and the disk is being read with the cover open. Problem is, I can not close the cover properly - as the part "A" tool prevents the right-hand side of the lid shutting. The parts "B & C" are Ok, but the part "A" was delivered with the peel-off cover for the sticky surface missing. Is it just (as I suspect), that I have badly positioned part A?

Cheers

If I remember correctly Tool A keeps the disc brake pushed right? Just take the tool out if it's not fitting correctly. You can't play games with the top open but your problem is you want it closed right?

Part A is the piece just above the power on/off button. I guess it's purpose is just to signal to the PS2 when the lid is closed. If I remove this tool then the laser won't move and thus I can't play any swap magic games. Obviously I could just remove Part A to allow me to shut the top for standard PS2 games - but then what's the point in the kit? The Magic Switch Pro V2 sales pitch states that I it doesn't break the PS2 warranty and that the lid can still be shut. Well you can do this on mine to a point - but the right-hand corner of the lid is bent up whilst the middle and left catches are locked in place as normal.
Cheers

Replace part A with a small piece of tissue about 1cm x 1cm like the tape/tissue guide says. The tissue should stuff into the hole depressing the sensor and mold enough to allow the case to close. It won't close as easily as w/o the tissue but it'll close if you don't use too much tissue. My piece of tissue was a little bigger than 1cm x 1cm but just make a small ball something that will completely fill the hole and maybe spill out just a bit.

NOTE: Don't make it small enough that it can fall through. It happened to me and I didn't want to take a chance so I fetched it out (by opening the case) but I'm assuming since you bought a magic switch pro you don't want to open your case.
