can't run UMD's

I have a PSP downgraded to v1.5 but when I try to play my inserted UMD (lord of the rings tactics) using fastloader (v0.7) the game starts loading but just stops at one of the intro screens then promptly shuts down the whole PSP. The odd thing is that the first time someone else played it, it worked fine. Furthermore, the UMD plays normally when put into other downgraded v1.5 PSP's which has me totally confused.
The only thing I think that could be different is that one of the PSP's (not sure if it is mine or not) was bought in Hong Kong, so if there are region coding issues that might be it though I dunno how fastloader managed to load the UMD at all if that was the case.

Anyone have any idea what I can do to play the UMD?

sounds to me as though its your psp

try cleaning the lens with a umd cleaner

or the old magic blow trick

If the UMD was just dirty then it would not have worked when I tried running it on another PSP nor would it crash so consistently at teh exact same point in when the game is loading.
I tried cleaning it anyway and still no luck.

Think upgrading and downgrading again would help at all?
