All of the sudden today i went to back up a new movie that i bought and my drive wont reconginze it. When i put the in disk into the drive the drive makes a noise like the disk is reading but nothing happenes. This is the standard drive that came with the labtop. My other drive is extrenal and that still works fine... any ideas?

Have you tried a different disc in that drive. Clicking and not reading does not sound good.

yes ive tried oringal dvd's, copies (dvd+r, dvd-r) and cds

Had the same thing happen to me, when loading a disk the drive would spin as if it were trying to read it, but nothing would happen. The drive was defective, the only solution... get a new one. Hope it's under warranty.
