Can't save gamesaves with SNES Station

Is it a requirement to have a DVD RW/CD RW to save gamesaves with SNES Station?

Whenever I save a gamepoint, I load up the game again and it doesn't appear.

No it doesn't save games on the disc it saves them on the memory card. When your saving a game you have to save it to the memory card. To do that press the L2 and R2 buttons and then save the game, and then when you come back to the game press the L2 and R2 button and it will say load load game save and there you go.
