Hello there

I've managed to get infected with this nasty little virus and have had a look at a recent thread on the subject. "Spertti" seems like he'll be able to fix this for me?!

Remove via Add/Remove Programs ( located in control panel )

NoAdware4 or something that is close enough to that name.

Get win32delfkil -> http://users.telenet.be/marcvn/tools/win32delfkil.exe

Save it to your desktop and doubleclick it and it´ll make a folder called windelfkil
Doubleclick fix.bat. if your computer doesn´t automatically reboot after fix then reboot it yourself.

After that
Boot in safe mode (press F8 while booting and select safe mode from appearing menu)

Delete these if found:
C:\Program Files\====================>Chovv<===== Folder
C:\windows\==========================>alt.exe<==========
C:\Program Files\====================>NoAdware4<= Folder
C:\WINDOWS\System32\=================>ib6.dll<==========

After these are all done post a new HjT-log and text that is in C:\windelf.txt

Hello again.

Done everything you said (I think). When I rebooted in Safe Mode I couldn't find C:\windows alt.exe, C:\windows batserv2.exe, C:\windows\system32 msjcf.exe and C:\windows\System32 browsela.dll, so I think they might have already gone. However, the alt.exe file looks like it might still be hiding somewhere as when I restarted in noral mode I got the Norton Virus warning again (but only for alt.exe file, not browsela.dll file).

Anyway, here is the HJT log:

Alt.exe should be here -> C:\windows\alt.exe (it's in running processes as well)

Do this:

First, shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware as it might prevent those lines to be removed

Fix these lines with HjT:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Windows Session Manager Subsystem] C:\windows\smss.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Windows Logon Process] C:\windows\winlogon.exe

Download KillBox

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/spyware/KillBox.zip

Unzip,open and select Delete on Reboot
Then copy/paste the line below:

C:\windows\alt.exe

Then in KillBox File > Paste from Clipboard
Press Delete after that (red with white X on it)
Answer yes in questions and if computer doesn't restart automatically, restart it by yourself.

Send a fresh HijackThis log.
