Hello everyone and I would just like to say first and foremost I am happy to join the Afterdawn Community.
I have recently backed up a DVD movie onto my hardrive. I have the .ISO and .VOB files and I did rename the actual movie file to .avi format. However, you would next conclude that this file is gigantic. I am trying to import this DVD movie onto my Ipod as well as my PSP and I am wondering how to compress the file to a lower size. Is this possible because I know the Ipod only holds 30GB and my memory stick for my PSP most definetly does not hold that much space. Please get back to me guys.
PS. I am assuming at some point I will need a VOB to AVI converter. I know this question has most likely been asked many times but IS THERE any FILE to AVI converter that is freeware not trial. Thanks again.
Do you plan to convert DVD to iPod video and PSP video?
If yes, you don't need to rip DVD to AVI first, and then convert AVI to iPod/PSP MP4. The program in my signature can convert DVD to iPod and PSP video straightly.
If no, please try dvdx, it is free.
Thank you for the information. However, my question is still not fully answered. I am going to try to explain this as easy as possible. I have a full DVD movie file which is in VOB format. I would like to put it onto my PSP and Video Ipod. The file is huge while also not being a MP4. I am wondering if there is a freeware program that can compress and convert my VOB file into the right type of file in order to play on my PSP as well as Video Ipod. Thank you.
