A lot of DVR units will not permit recording to a disk from the HDD and most will not allow this on copy protected material.
Ypu may be running into this. Are you saying that you can play the program on the DVR HDD and copy the progran on another DISK recorder. If so can you play the disk and what recorder are you using and what programs are we speaking to

I think what he is asking is... how do you connect the Panasonic DVD recorder to his digital tv so he can record 'live' shows...instead of recording to the Time Warner DVR first and then transfer it to the Panasonic DVR.

I have both but they are connected to different tvs. The Panasonic one is connected to a tv with non-digital channels.

Thanks for your suggestion. Presently I have Panasonic DVD recorder connected to Hometheater sysytem. It is also connected to DVR(TimeWarner cable).First I have to record the TV program to DVR as I am unable to record directly to DVD recorde while I am watching.Later on I can make DVD from recorded shows stored in DVR. Is it possible that DVR and Panasonic DVD recorder are not compatible.Any help will be appreciated. Time Warner Tech has not seen this problem in his lifetime.

On my TW box there is a USB port on the front. Is it possible to link the box with my computer and download my saved shows to my computer? If so, how would I do that and is there a special program that I need?

Thanks

I use the Panasonic EMR 85H. I upgraded my TV to an HDTV and also upgraded from basic cable to HD cable service. I was not able to get the TVGOS listings to download to the E85. Out of frustration, I had TWC bring in their Scientific Atlanta 8000HD Recorder to be able to record programs. Would like to know is anyone in this forum was able toget the TVGOS listings to download? AND, how do you connect the TWC HD Recorder to the E85 to transfer programs recorded on the HD Recorder to the E85? Panasonic tech support said I needed to contact TWC and have them "unlock" the video outputs on the HD DVR?

Thanks
