I have installed Video Advantage ADX capture card in my Dell Demension 8400. After recording VHS to the PC I get the video OK but no audio. The card comes with 1/8 RCA audio cable to attach from the analog source to the PC sound card audio line input. any help would be great thanks.

What software are you using. You may need to go into you audio settings and check you sound input source. It may be that you have the cable plugged into the line in when the settings are for mic in or vice versa.

The software is Video Adavantage ADX by Turtle Beach. I have the 1/8 RCA cords plugged in to the mic of the sound card. SB audigy 2zs Audio is the Audio capture device and the recording source is S/PDIF-in. Thanks Squizluke for getting back to me.

Well if you have it Plugged into the "Mic" port then the Audio Source in the Software has to be "Mic" and NOT "S/PDIF"...

So change it from "S/PDIF" to "Mic" and it should work, That is if you have the "MIC" set up as a Recording source in your Windows audio Settings....

If there is No "MIC" option in your Capture software then it is Because you do not have the "Mic" selected as a recording source in your windows audio settings....

Cheers

Thanks Minion,

I finally got a chance to try your suggestion and it worked. However when I try to burn the file I made to DVD the system says that I do not have a blank DVD in the burner. I have tried at least 4 or 5 brand new ones and the system refuses to recognize them and won't burn them. It will not even burn from the Sonic or Windows movie maker that dell installed on my computer. Any suggestions? Thanks a gain!!

How are you trying to put this file on to DVD??

You can"t just Burn the File to a DVD and expect it to play in your DVD Player anyways cuz that is not how DVD"s are made...To Put a file on to DVD you Must use a DVD authoring program....

If the file is a DVD compliant MPEG-2 file then you need to use a DVD authoring program Like "Tmpgenc DVD author" to put the MPEG-2 file on to DVD ,You can"t just Burn it....

good luck
