I have converted the video from my digital 8MM camcorder to DV-AVI. The file though is 40GB. The video itself is really not that long at all. Is this going to be too large to convert to MPEG so that I can burn it onto a DVD? What is a good MPEG encoding software that I could buy or download to do this? Thanks for all of the help.

try using TMPEG express. Choose the dvd tmplate and it will set the bitrate so that it will fit on the dvd.
