i want to no if divx formatt can work on most dvd players and dvd players that dont support mp3 and vcd playback.

I'm no expert but I was under the impression that at this time there are only one or two dvd players that support divx. So I would say no.

The KISS dvd players all support divx, there are few more but some time in the future perhaps!

yes but the kiss players only support divx 4 & 5 not 3.11 YET!!

Kiss have released a later firmware (2.6.6) which enables playback of DivX3.11. You can get multi region from www.jasperfish.co.uk

so how do you burn the movie to the disc to be played on the player?

If you have a divx compatible player, burn it as data with Nero! Your only other options are to encode to vcd/svcd http://www.afterdawn.com/articles

but if you do encode it than there is really no need to have a player that supports divx you just need one that supports VCD which is most of them

Ye thats exactly what i said, if it plays divx then burn as data, if not encode vcd/svcd. I would love it if my stanjdalone could play divx but for now its re-encoding to dvd for me too :( ah well, give it a couple of years and it will be stardard in standalones!

if you have a player that will play divx, no, if not then you do have to encode!
