well first of all, im sorry if my question doesnt belong to this forum
but i dont know where to post it....basically i was ripping my original dvd's in no more than 1 hr 5 minutes, thats including everything encoding and burning....now recently i was having problems with my windows xp about my system runnig low on virtual memory....so i made a google search and i found how to fix it....i went to my system properties then to advanced then i went to performace settings and then to the advanced tab, then to virtual memory and i change it from custom size to system managed size, and yes that fix my problem but now it seems that is taking me longer to ripp an original dvd is taking about 1 hr 30 minutes....and it never happened....so guys do you have any suggestions about my issue......for any help thank you

Your system may have reverted to PIO mode. Use this guide to reset to DMA:

This should speed it up again.

In shrink look at the Quality settings. If the boxes are checked then it will take longer to put on your harddrive. That only affects reading not writing. Normal write time at 4x around 12-13 minutes at 8x around 7-8. I think most people stick with 4x to burn. Read time if I do movie only around 10-16 min. Whole disc 16-25. If quality boxes are checked you can go over an hour real easy.
