I'd really appreciate if someone out there with hours and hours and maybe years of experience could clarify something...ive seen some amazing ripped films downloaded in divx and are about 1hr 50 mins long and all on one cd...i mean the quality is amzing hardly any blocks at all...if there is anyone out there that swears they have one of the best guides on DVD to DIVX conversion and have the proof on one cd, then please enlighten me! ive had some luck with encoding but, still cant seem to get smooth playback all the way through....?!? is there anyone out there with this knowledge..say the person who converted the downloadable DIVX films on the net(via Imesh, kazaar)such as Lord of the Rings(the fellowship, on two cds but what quality), Shrek, Amelie....if youre out there then i gotta take my hat off to you...you are a master! hope to hear from someone!?!
cheers

If you encounter audio sync problems with the latest DivX encoder, then switch to MPEG4 DivX 3.11alpha
Please keep in mind that you can only play DivX format on your pc. if your home dvd player supports SVCD, then I have the right program and encoder and guide too!

thanks Shoey for the swift reply, but are you sure about Vidomi, ive tried it and was not convinced but then ive only used it once so !?! the best results ive had so far is with DVDX 2.2 but then again ive had probs with synch and 2 passes...others have said that Vidomi is the one so will look into it..ive also tried Gordian Knot but its too slow, but great if you got the time to investigate it many possibilties...have you tried this Vidomi guide and do you get great resolution all the way through the film??! Do you think Divx 5.0.3 Pro is better than the 5.0.2 Pro codec? Ive heard say that version 0.2 is better?! thats the prob here, theres so much info out there that you gotta dredge your way through it in order to find the authentic info! cheers again...will give Vidomi another try later when i get my pc sent ...

Vidomi produces amazing video playback for me. I use DivX 3.11alpha simply because DivX 5.x caused audio sync playback problems. ChickenMan endorses the use of this program bacdvd2divx, and is a mod at at least 3 forums, and the author of Eaxy VCD. Just be sure your output file is AVI and you choose 2-pass (DivX network quality based).
