This sucks. My new psp isnt recognized by my pc, im on a
DELL, Celeron D, XP Home Service Pack 2

I Tried all my USB slots, nothing is working, please help.

Your PC won't automatically recognise the PSP. You must turn on the USB connection from the PSP first. Go onto settings and it should be there.

Are you putting the psp on USB mode first ?
even if you connect the cable, it will only be detected by the PC if you switch USB mode on.

To switch USB mode on, scroll all the way to the left of the PSP menu and look for a USB icon and choose that.

Do you have any other USB devices that do work on your computer? Maybe your USB is messed up on the computer or the PSP. Try a USB mouse or keyboard and see if they work on your PC. If they do, and you plug the PSP into the same USB port and it doesn't work, then the PSP is messed up, or the USB cable is bad. Its just basic process of elimination.

This happened to me the other day, my PC would not read the PsP from any of my 4 USB ports even after a reboot which was really weird coz it had worked when i was transferring a video just hours b4 and nothing was added/removed from my PC during that time and the only other USB device i have is my modem. I never even turned the PC off until the reboot, in the end i got it working by going to the add new hardware wizard. When it was reading it was as if it had never be connected b4 and was saying in the installation bubble finding/installing drivers which was also very weird as it never asked me to add/install anything the first 30 times i hooked the PsP up to the PC. I doubt it was my PC as it never happened with my modem. Maybe its a bug in the PsP's system software causing it?
