With stock hdd games load just fine but when I put my bigger hdd games don't load

Sup ppl. This is the situation: I have softmodded xbox 1.6. With the stock hdd I can load games--whether they're backup or original just fine. But when I switch with the upgraded hdd (120g), games behave differently:

1) Full spectrum warrior (original DVD) just hangs at the 'Xbox' logo
2) Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (backup DVD) does the same
3) Rainbow 6 Lockdown (running from HDD) loads all the way to the 'Start' screen, but when I hit 'start' then it hangs
4) The Punisher and The Suffering (running from HDD) play just fine.


Please please shed light on this. I can't figure for the life of me what the heck is going on. Thanks in advance.
