Hi,
I just downloaded ver. 1.2 of IMGBURN. Is there a manual or guide to help set it up. I'm sure it's easy, however, being a newbie, I installed it and it comes up, but I don't know how to initialize or set the various parameters to have it burn movies from my dvd burner to a blank disk in the same burner or how to have it so the source is my same drive as my target!! I know I must indicate a hard drive cache but can't seem to figure it out. Maybe I should remove the dvd that I want to copy from the burner before setting up the program? In any event, I get an icon of the hard drive at the bottom with an arrow to a dvd drive!! I think it should be the other way around but need some help correcting the setup. Thank you so much for any help,reference material, or guides regarding this procedure.
Sincerely,
Miles

Thanks alot 9mmruger1,
Cynthia really knows her stuff, a great outline of the program. I, however, thought that Imgburn could also copy and rip the dvd movie to the hard drive first. I guess that requires DVD Decrypter or Shrink, as free programs. I am currently using 1clickdvdcopy along with AnyDVD as the css decrypter with no problems. When I saw the Imgburn program, I thought it may go faster to make the copy from the original movie dvd??
I can make a good copy now in 30 mins....both reading and riping and then burning to a blank dvd disk. Also, have you tried Shrinkto5.exe? It is free and I thought the 2nd generation Dvdshrink? I use it too and it is very clear in its video, however, it takes 45 mins to do the complete copy. It has its own decrypter also. Anyways, thanks again for your help and reply.

But anyway everyone is different.
Honestly im confused.

mg5pro,
My question is can imgburn do both ripping of the original movie dvd to the hard drive first, in addition to burning the hard drive image (iso) or other ripped files from the hard drive to the target dvd disk? I know it can do the latter (burn from the hard drive to the dvd blank disk) I believe that it can't do the former and one must use a separate program to rip the the original movie dvd to the hard drive, i.e. DvdDecrypter or Shrink first.

mg5pro and oneacer:
Thanks to both you guys for answering my stupid question?
I will try it as a burner. Why doesn't anyone talk about the free Shrinkto5.exe which is " the new dvdshrink"? This program is fast in both ripping and burning with great video results? I sometimes use it when the bought programs have difficulty copying a dvd!!!
Anyhow, thanks again.

I only use shrink as an encoder.Just to reauthor the dvd cause i only backup the main movie.I havent tried that new shrink because on the oficial page says he last version is the one i have so im kind of afraid of downloading it from somewhere else.Never trust in sites you dont know.I use dvd fab decrypter and the any dvd.AnyDVD worths every penny i paid for it.The best so far.Then i use shrink and ImgBurn.Never had any trouble doing a backup.Always smooth and perfect.

@dolphin2

I havent tried reinstalling ImgBurn because just downloaded it.Its only sometimes that it happens.But i will try anyway.Thanks for the advice.

mg5pro,
I would be happy to send you the download so you could try and see how you like it. I have many programs and just play with them all to make copies or switch to various ones, when I have a problem with one or the other. I can swear it is clean. It works on win xp os , not win9x systems. Let me know.

I`ve been lookin for it and reading some reviews.Watching the screenshots and all and i think i will stick with my dvdshrink 3.2.Dont take me wrong but in my opinion dvdshrink is better than shrinkto5.
I forgot to ask again if it was a mistake when u typed or did you really downloaded ImgBurn v1.2?

mg5pro,
I REALLY downloaded IMGBURN VER 1.2 (NEW UPDATED VERSION) from their website's offering of 4 mirrored sights to use. I used one of them without any problems. I had earlier downloaded ver 1.0, but was going to install it later when I heard ver 1.2 was already out. So I Dowloaded the more updated version and installed it.

mg5pro,
The latest version of Imgburn is 1.1.0.0. LightningUK has not updated the last version as it was updated in December.

Imgburn website: http://www.imgburn.com/

IMGTool Burn has a version 1.2 but it is not the same as Imgburn

@Car.Mike

i thought so.I always look at imgburn site cause i want to update to the last version of it but like i havent seen v1.2 so i asked.It just couldnt be right.Now it makes sense what MESMD meant.The reason i check the site for an updated version is cause ImgBurn cant do it by itself.Always says that the version is up to date when it isnt.Not sure if we will be able to do it automaticaly with the next update.Just have to wait and see.This is what i meant. :-)

MG5PRO, I meant ver 1.10 I downloaded and installed. 1.2 was not available at the time. Ver. 1.1 was an easy download and installation. I just keep it and haven't used it yet as I'm using the burning program that comes with 1Clickcopydvd (Copytodvd). They work together automatically and vey well.
