I apologize if this is not a apropriate subforum for this topic. I really could not decide which is the most suitable group for this.

I have an older machine, Pentium Pro 200MHz with Matrox Millennium II 4MB and 3Dfx Voodoo2 12MB, and I wanted to add an MPEG2 decoder in the system.

But since the system is already utilising one pass-trough VGA cable from the Matrox to the 3Dfx, and most MPEG2 decoders also use pass-trough system, if I add such a card I will have double pass-trough solution. That is too much of a video signal degradation in my opinion.

So the question is, are there any MPEG2 decoders which do not use pass-trough method, and which ones? I would then find one one EBay.
