1. Open BlindWrite Suite. Click the orange arrow icon, which activates BlindRead:

2. Select the first option ('Dump the image of a CDROM', see figure, step 2) and press the 'NEXT' button (step 3)

3. On the next screen just check that the selected CD-ROM drive is the one you have the CD you want to backup inserted into. You can leave anything as default (the option Extract Subcodes is needed when coping SecuRom protected discs). After that, click the 'NEXT' button

4. In the next window verify the 'Nibble' extraction method is selected (step 6). Then click 'READ' (step 7) to start image extraction

5. At the end of the process you need to start the .BWA Builder to extract the .BWA file needed to backup SecuROM. You may either get a popup at the end of the extraction

or you'll need to Start it manually (by default its path is: Start---> Programs ---> Blindwrite Suite ---> Physical CD Characteristic Dumper)

6. On the first screen of the Physical CD Characteristic Dumper (a.k.a. BWA Builder) you might want to change 'read speed' to 'Max' and check that the 'Draw during measurement' option has been selected. Click 'Start' button to start dumping.

7. Click 'Yes' at the popup 'Automatic set last sector?'

8. When the dumping process has been completed you'll see a chart showing the 'Linear density of sectors'

If you have a chart full of spikes then your reader is not very good at dumping. Try lowering the read speed, then:

If you're really in troble and you cannot build a good BWA file, try editing it with this program:
http://home.iprimus.com.au/deo/hosted/BWAEdit1.0.zip
or look on the Net. There are some BWA files that can be downloaded freely, for instance, here:
http://club.cdfreaks.com/archive/topic/58185.html

9. Save the .BWA file using the same name of the dumped image and put it in the same directory of the image. This is very important in order to load the .BWA file when burning the dumped image on a new CD-R!

Now you should have a full set of files (.BWI/.BWT/.BWA) on your Hard Disk. The dumping step has been completed!
