Need assistance understanding if the PSP can do 128 bit WEP encryption. I've followed all the direction on setting up the PSP to access the internet. I ran the test connection and the PSP see's the WRT54G with Speedbooster router. Idetifies the SSID and all indications look good but when I scroll down it says Internet: Failed. I am running v2.6 on the PSP. The router has WEP 128bit password which I entered into the PSP. I have no trouble with 2 Tivo's and a desktop, all wirelessly connected. This PSP just won't go out to the internet. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks.

Bill.

That is what I meant by I followed all the steps setting up the PSP. Does the router have to have a port opened or a range?

no port is required to be opened on your router. Try disabling security on your router and retry setting up your connection and let me know if that works.

Also...do you happen to have Mac address/IP Address filtering enabled on your router by any chance ?

Thanks guys. I have no MAC filtering on the router. If I remove security on the router, that would suck. I really don't want to do that. Like I said it works fine over 2 Tivo units and a wireless desktop. Not too keen on wanting to run all over the house removing WEP. Any other suggstions?

simply disable security for like about a minute just to test if it works

The box said "Requires Windows 98 or better", so I installed Linux !!

Fair enough... I'll try that just to make sure the unit is good. I'll let you know.

Well, I turned off 128 Bit WEP security on my Linksys router and off surfing I went. No problems. As soon as i activated the security, no internet connectivity. This appears to be a glitch in the PSP unles they don't support 128 bit encryption. I didn't try 64 bit. Well, thanks to your suggestions. Now off I go to the sony site........
