I do *have* the same problem as MANY other users of DIVX Pro 5.0.3. I select my video resolution to 512x288, for example, and I want it to have 2MB per secon, but the codec limits MY BITRATE to a lesser AMOUNT. I mean, If I have a 10 second movie, with my 2MB per second selected rate, then I should have a total of 20MB. Instead, I get an approximately 3MB sized file.
WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? So divx doesn't allow me to choose MY OWN bitrate?? Then why does it let me change it to a value of my own??

HOW CAN I OVERCOME THIS PROBLEM??! Is this a limitation of the codec or may it be an internal (and secret) 30 day trial for that option???

Thanks in advance.

Could it be that there's an audio bitstream accounting for the other 1MB/second?

No. I am encoding with no sound attached.
I have been searching over the internet and I found something about a DirectShow bug which interfers with the DIVX bitrate chosen by the user.
I have uninstalled Media Player 7.1 (which has all the DirectShow codecs) and the DIVX bitrate started to work as I wanted, but not for long. After a few minutes of experiments I got the same problem again!!

Now it is becoming worse! When encoding a movie, after approximately 30 minutes, the DIVX codec starts to encode at a very very very low bitrate, which results in a HUGE pixelization encoding. STRANGE!!!!

Can it be a BUG, a limitation (a trial-type thing) or a "trojan-like" program which affects the DIVX codec?

HELP!!!
