This is probably a dumb question, but I want to rip a Region 3 DVD so that I can watch it on a Region 1 DVD player. I've seen the movie on my PC with a region killer, but I want to show it to my friends! I know that all DVD-R's are Region-Free, but I'm not sure how to rip different region DVD's. Would I treat it as a Region 1 DVD and just rip it? Or is there something special that I have to do?

DVDdecrypter will rip your DVD and make it region-free. Also, ifoedit and ifoupdate (I think) will do that for you.

You then need to burn it to a DVD-R.
