Hi,
can anyone please advise as to how I can find out who the manufacturer of the DVD's that I purchased. I live in the UK and normally use Datawrite DVD's but I hear so much about these not being too good, and has I want to back up some family DVD's (which I want to keep for a long time), which is the best media to buy (without having to rob a bank)?
I did have a trial program on my PC which told me the media I was using, but this ran out. Is there any FREE software that I can use?

In appreciation for your help.

thread teleported to relevant forum, and i'm one of those who advises ppl to beware of Datawrite, but only because you have to be very careful which ones you buy/or end up with.

Thanks for the info,
But where is that free software that I can use to check the maufacture of the DVD's that I use.
PS:- going to use Verbatim DVD's from now. About 10% of the Datawrite DVD's that I bought and either used or had written to, after a while they will NOT play.
