Is it worth buying a monitor to play my 360 on? The only way I can afford an HDTV is if it fell off the back of a lorry (even then it'd probably break LOL) thoughts?

Now I have not personally seen the Xbox or the Xbox 360 played on a computer monitor, but I know for a fact that my computer monitor is awesome to watch DVD's on, which I believe are 480p. So with the compatibility I would go for it. Computer monitors are as cheap as can be (compared to HDTV) and you could always just use the one you have for your current computer if that's possible.

I have a standard tv and it looks very good, the only thing its hard to read the small words on some games....but the graphics are great. I have a 25 inch tv and i bought it 4 years ago. So i wont be getting an HDTV anytime soon just for that. Maybe in a year or if my tv dies.

I had a browse around and the VGA cable that runs from the xbox to pc costs 30-40 pounds. I think i'll give it a miss!

If you live in the USA then you have an NTSC TV trying to run a PAL xbox 360, that may be why you have a black and white screen. I suggest you ring microsoft.
