For one, it's SEGA, not SAGA. Two, Dreamcast doesn't have the C in upper case. Three, the DC was designed to be able to boot from CD-R media as a standard. The Gamecube isn't. There also isn't a boot disc. Nintendo wouldn't allow the production of a disc that bypassed the original disc read. All the freeloader does is allow you to play import games on the original media. Completely different process.

First, there is no reason to flame this guy. If you don't have anything helpful to say then don't say anything at all.

Incorrect. There is a boot disk that can run homebrew code, and it is made by the makers of Action Replay. It is called MAX Drive Pro. Check it out!

You can boot custom dashes with this so I guess you can back up games. It's one of the softmod techniques. I have not done this before but I have been researching the gamecube scene and I am pretty sure this would be the best way to go if you do not want to install a mod-chip.

However if you are going to want to copy your own games, then you will need a broadband adaptor. Also since standard DVDs won't fit in the gamecubes case you are going to need to buy Mini-DVDs

this might be a dumb question but prolly some clarification... can the max drive pro stream the backup through the USB to the pc or from BBA in gc to pc? thanks

im thinking of buying one .. because i dont really want to risk
messing up my cube on someone's shaky hands let alone my own

its a pretty reliable way to go about playing games rite?

...i was looking at a list of compatible and not compatible mini/full size dvd-r and i was just confused... which media *COMMON MEDIA ... meaning that you could walk to the local store and be able to find it there* works best. Memorex mini dvds are probably the most common I see but idk how they perform ..

how the max drive pro works is you upload an alternate OS to the max drive pro memory card and you boot it with the max drive pro boot disk it will load GCOS or NINJA MOD or whatever OS you have in DOL form on the memory card this will give you the chance to swap the disk for a back up and play it no streaming at all

Ok as I said I have been reasearching this, and I want to know. If you use MAX Drive Pro and you do have a broadband adaptor for the gamecube are you able to stream and play games from a PC harddrive if you wanted to?

Sure you can. But they aren't going to play as well as they should.
