I have started backing up my dvds for my kids to watch..I am tired of them scratching up my originals..I am new to this, I have only backed up 4 movies with no problems so far....

My problem is, the other day I bought my second copy of NATIONAL TREASURE, I am using DVD Shrink vers 3.2.0.15 and DVD43 and Memorex DVD+R media.

I use DVD Shrink to Rip, Encode, & Burn. It took like 6 hours to copy this movie but it did copy. The only thing I did differently with this movie than the others I have Backed up is that I did not have a DVD+R so I just didnt burn it right away. The next day I went and bought more DVD+Rs and opened the files and finished burning the movie.

My son uses his PS2 to play DVDs in his room all my other movies I backed up for him to watch have worked fine, But National Treasure will not play it comes up to a Disc Read Error. The movie plays perfectly in my DVDrw drive and in my home DVD player without error.

Is there something I can do differently or some other software that is as easy as DVD Shrink to use that will work better??I really like the No-Brainer use of DVD Shrink but If there is better software I am not opposed switchin..

Players can be kinda picky with what media/discs they like. First thing I would recommend is dump the Memorex - it's usually manufactured by some pretty poor manufacturers like CMC. Use quality media like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.
Keep you burn speed at 4x - the higher the speed the more chances of errors.
Make sure your burner's firmware is up to date.
To make the discs almost 100% compatible with players booktype the discs to dvd-rom if your burner supports booktyping. Here's a link for more info: http://www.k-probe.com/bitsetting-booktype-faq.php
Post back the make and model of your burner if you need help.
Now the 6 hour bit - wow that's a long time!!
If you have 'deep analysis' in shrink checked this will increase the time but 6 hours is quite long.
So make sure you are in DMA mode and not the slooow PIO mode. Here's a link for that:

Last but not least - no multi tasking - shrink is pretty cpu intensive so keep that memory free.
