Hello. i use roxio easy cd creator 5 basic to write by cds. when i am coping music cds, should i select track by track or copy whole cd? would either be faster. does anyone know a better cd writing software that is better than that and is it free??

if you are copying a CD, then use copy mode, not track method. as far as software goes, Nero is MUCH better than roxio. I am not aware of any free burning apps out there. For just copying CDs, Clone CD is the way to go.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

Nero is definately one of the best copiers out on the market, but if you are looking for free software CD copying programs there are many available. It's just a matter of trying until you find one that suits.
