ConfigMagic EEPROM PAL NTSC Video and MAC Address

Since I flashed my xbox (1.2 PAL) with ConfigMagic I have two problems:

1) The MAC address of the box changes on every boot.

2) The video output is NTSC, even though I have a PAL box and configmagic says "PAL, Region 4"

The box was unmodded - I use mechassault to launch XBMC.

If I flash my EEPROM with a backup of the original EEPROM then read it back I don't get what I wrote. One of the checksum bytes at offset 0x30 differs. This I think is supposed to be an checksum of 44 bytes for serial, mac, online key, video standard and some padding. These bytes have not changed, yet the checksum has.

The box works fine, except that it outputs NTSC instead of PAL (it's a
PAL box) and the MAC address changes on each boot. Since these values
are in the affected region I feel they must be linked.

I'm using ConfigMagic-FINAL from the Team-Assembly site.

How can I fix this?
