Need to press down on the fliptop cover in order to have it read my Swap Magic disk

I have a fliptop cover installed on my PS2. It works fine. However, I am finding that the Swap Magic (v3.3) DVD does not get read by the PS2 unit unless I apply some pressure to the flip top cover when I start up the PS2. Has anybody else experienced this? Any ideas as to how to fix the problem?

My friend's top had the same problem, but we never figured out how to fix it. He ended up just putting a weight on top of it.

Aye, my friend's flip top did the same thing. We came to the conclusion that sometimes flip tops aren't manufactored as precisely as they should be. And if it's that little bit off, you may have to place a book or some type of weight on it, like sly's friend and mine did. You can also try tightening the screws a little more, just be sure not to overtighten either though.

I know this may sound obvious but be careful you don't put too heavy a weight on it. This can ultimately lead to scratching/scuffing, longer load times, disc read errors etc., if the lid is pressed down to hard.
